You’ll find what you look for
Have you ever noticed that people always find what they look for? It’s interesting to talk to people everyday and determine, in a matter of moments, what kind of outlook they have on life.
They’ll either talk with me about how great things are or about how awful things are. I believe they’ve trained their eyes to look for one or the other in every aspect of life. I suppose it’s the difference between perpetual optimists or pessimists. I heard a saying once that said, “a pessimist is never disappointed.” While that may be true, I prefer optimism. You know…the half-full concept.
There’s plenty of things going wrong in the world, our jobs or maybe even our personal lives. However, I believe that when we look for the best in everything we do, we’ll find the best and be much better off for it.
The next time you want to complain about something, ask yourself if that’s what you were looking for when you found it. If it is, then consider looking on the bright side of things. We’re all blessed with what we have. We live in an awesome country, have great jobs or will have one soon if you’re in between right now, and live better than 95% of the free world.
Choose to be happy. 🙂
