We face hundreds (maybe thousands) of decisions over the course of a single work day. Success comes down to one thing: making the right decisions. The truth is, if you make a majority of your decisions correctly, you’ll be a winner! But, if you get a majority wrong, then you lose. To prevent you from reading volumes about how to make better decisions, let’s share the simple patterns of highly effective leaders. the most effective decision making is a 3-step process:

  1. Investigation – identify and understand whatever data we need to make the decision.
  2. Interpretation – take the information gathered and analyzed and make your decision.
  3. Implementation – the follow-through. Making a great decision is not enough – you have to actually implement it.

The trick to the process is recognizing which of the three steps we’re least good at and disciplining ourselves to work harder in those areas.
