Daily Read – Feeling Boxed In?

It’s easy to say “think outside the box” but it’s not always easy to find inspiration. Here are 3 easy exercises to help you get creative!

  1. Set parameters to help you focus: sounds odd, but boundaries can help your brain give your ideas more depth and breadth. “List ten things that…”,”Come up with five ideas with…” are examples of boundaries.
  2. Search for random inspiration: trigger your brain by looking for inspiration in unusual/unrelated areas.
  3. Aim for quantity not quality: the more ideas you come up with, no matter how absurd, the more you can spur additional ideas and come up with one that will solve your problem.

Speed and friendly competition can help churn out ideas without judgment. This is the case of the more the merrier!
