If you want to improve your product, speech, or website you need to stop asking people whether they “like it” and change your asking approach.  To get the most honest and helpful answer ask “what is one thing I could have done (or could do) better?”.  Most people like to be nice, so giving negative feedback can be difficult and awkward, but this is the honesty you are seeking to help you improve. The key, is that you want to get actionable feedback and avoid being put on the defensive So, when you ask for feedback, tell people you know there is still work to be done, and ask for one or two specific changes they think would lead to improvement.
