Your workplace can motivate your people to look forward, find new ways of doing things, and constantly seek better results or it can be a hindrance or an enabler and get in the way of change and growth. Here’s how to bolster innovation and prosperity:

  1. Give your employees responsibility and leeway. You’ve heard it before – don’t micromanage and we all know it’s difficult to step back. But, when your employees aren’t given any autonomy to make decisions on tough calls, the result can be staffers who are satisfied with the status quo. You’ll end up with a culture that’s a hindrance to innovation, rather than an enabler of it.
  2. Realize size doesn’t matter.  It’s not the size of your business that will determine profits; it’s the culture that makes the difference. You want your employees to have a passion for what they’re doing. Adopting a culture that embraces change and innovation from the bottom and the top is the key to making your business an exciting place to work.
