Daily ReadKick Guilt in the ….

Stop feeling bad about putting off that much-dreaded to-do list item you’ve been avoiding and just get it done. A to-do list can be helpful, only you if you work through it all. But, occasionally there is a dreaded item, that keeps getting bumped to the bottom of the list and the top of your guilty conscience. Whether it’s a difficult conversation or unwinding a previous mistake you put them off and feel guilty, which is an unpleasant waste of mental energy.

Guilt Hour: Set aside an hour each week, to identify an item or two that you are struggling with and commit to working on that task for the next hour. The key is to declare it, do it, move on. Consider instituting a Guilt Hour in your office, for your staff to assemble and encourage each other and if possible help each other to put their most dreaded tasks to bed once and for all.

Above all – go easy on yourself and give guilt a swift kick in the pants!
